Walt Martzen (he/they) is a bilingual (Mandarin/English) biracial Chinese-German queer Associate Marriage and Family Therapist supervised by Courtney Watson, LMFT (#98943). Many of Walt’s clients are people who have spent much of their lives moving between worlds. Walt has a special interest in working with queer Christians or ex-Christians recovering from religious trauma, as well as men who are unpacking inherited ideas of masculinity and stepping into a more authentic way of being in relationship with themselves and others. Therapy can be a place to slow down, ask deeper questions, and make space for parts of the self that may not have had room before- be that part the masculine self, the masc-femme self, the Christian or the former-Christian.

His approach draws from drama therapy and other experiential practices, inviting creativity, embodiment, and imagination into the work. Together, clients may explore the different roles they have carried in life, reconnect with their bodies and intuition, and experiment with new ways of relating to themselves and others. He does not see himself as an all-knowing expert, but as a fellow traveler walking alongside clients through a chapter of their lives—with curiosity, honesty, and compassion.
