Sojourner Oya is Doorway Therapeutics’ Intake Coordinator, bringing decades of experience in service, administration, and healthcare access. Based in New Mexico, Sojourner has over 10 years of experience in medical billing and transcription, and 5 years as an executive assistant—skills she now uses to support our clients with compassion and precision as they navigate therapy, referrals, and insurance systems like Medi-Cal.

A lifelong advocate for queer and trans communities, Sojourner’s commitment to collective healing and liberation is grounded in personal history and deep community ties. She has been of service through many roles, including musical ministry during the AIDS crisis, teaching, and ongoing support work for those often left behind by traditional systems. She is especially passionate about making sure no one searching for care slips through the cracks.

With fierce dedication and a heart for justice, Sojourner ensures that every person who reaches out to Doorway is met with care, clarity, and connection.
